The small village of Moustiers, in the Alpes de Haute-Provence, seeking to protect itself from the mistral, snuggles under the ridges of Mount Denier and the plateau of the same name. The number of tourists in full season will impress the visitor in search of authenticity of Provence, even if the place keeps an undeniable charm in any season.

Moustiers Saint Marie a step in Provence

Moustiers Sainte Marie

The Valensole plateau, nearby, attracts visitors from all over the world thanks to its purple lavender fields as far as the eye can see, the Gorges du Verdon punctuated by Lake Saint Croix also participate in the overcrowding of the site during the summer. This being offset by numerous cultural, folkloric or even sporting events throughout the region.
The village still has a certain charm. Strolling through the alleyways will not take much time but worth the detour. It is inconceivable not to go up to the little chapel of Notre-Dame de Beauvoir to admire the village seen from above and to glimpse the plateau of Valensole to the south. A stream separates the village in two and refreshes the heatwave during the summer months.

Hotels and restaurants, which are widely frequented by many nationals of all nationalities, are rising rapidly.
The summer atmosphere, to the delight of all, perfumes the faces of holidaymakers as well as the scents of garrigue, pine and lavender.
