The beautiful city of Turin is a wonderful idea to ride. The inhabitants of the Hautes Alpes (including Briançon) are only at 1h30 of Turin center.

When the urge to culture, store and swarming city arises, simply go to Oulx (30 minutes from Briancon) and then take the train (about an hour, it is almost a commuter train).

The Natural History Museum is 15 minutes walk from Central Station. The older building has charm, great. Different parts make up the museum in the basement all species living in the mountains with the associated explanations. Other rooms are unknown to our European countries animals : elephants, tigers, lions, bears etc. ...

All these species are stuffed (taxidermy) or as skeletons (whales, elephants, snakes etc ...) and very well kept. Some rooms are lit with red lights to avoid daylight damaging animals.
We learn (when writing this article!) That the museum is temporarily closed (renovation?).
